It is with immense pleasure and pride that I extend a heartfelt welcome to Segyeong University.

I personally believe a university serves as a crucible for intellectual prowess, channeling its benefits back into the broader community. Here at Segyeong University, we envision education as a transformative force, shaping not only individual destinies but also the trajectory of our collective future.
Since its establishment, Segyeong University is meant to be not only a seat of learning but a dynamic platform of ideas, innovation, and growth. We are dedicated to the cultivation of exceptional individuals poised to assume leadership roles in our nation's future.

Segyeong University has stood strong through the ups and downs of modern Korean history, guiding the nation through eras of industrialization, democratization, and technological advancement. Now, Segyeong University is getting ready to lead the way in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, tackling novel challenges and introducing innovative concepts to higher education.

As I take on the role of President at Segyeong University since February 2019, I aim to guide this institution toward a promising future. I sincerely invite you to accompany me on this thrilling journey towards the new Segyeong University. Thank you.

Our
History
Originating from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program of Gyeongwon Group, a leading industrial conglomerate in the field of real estate development, the Gyeongwon Education Community was established in 1969. Proactively engaging in various educational initiatives, one noteworthy program is the Gyeongwon Scholarship, providing financial aid and soft-skills training for students with limited financial means. Each year, the Gyeongwon Scholarship nurtures successful individuals who go on to make significant contributions in their respective fields.

In 1982, Segyeong University was officially founded as a collaborative effort between Gyeongwon Group, Professor Lee Sehyun, and the research institute head, extending the success of the CSR program. Committed to shaping a competitive and forward-thinking younger generation in South Korea, Segyeong University established the Segyeong Research Institute in 1999, aiming to support researchers and the academic community in their research endeavors.

Under the leadership of Kim Sangwoo in 2019, Segyeong University achieved recognition on the prestigious "Top 50 Under 50" list, ranking among the top 50 universities globally under 50 years of age, according to a renowned survey institution. This accomplishment highlights Segyeong University as one of the leading private universities in South Korea. Such remarkable achievements are the result of dedicated efforts to prioritize practical education and research, built upon a foundation of courage and a journey that encapsulates success.
